How to Forget Someone
How to forget someone fast It takes me one week at most to forget about someone I used to love even if the relationship lasted for a long period of time. You might think that I am emotionally strong or that i am an exception but the truth is that I suffered for more than a year after my first breakup and then after reading about love’s psychology I developed some kind of immunity to breakups. In my articles about breakups i will transfer that same immunity to you so that breakups won't affect you too. Stop resetting the counter!! How to forget someone you loved quickly? The key factor in forgetting about a person is not doing the right actions but its preventing yourself from doing the wrong actions.

Usually after any emotional wound that occurs our mind takes a certain time in order to heal the wound and forget about it unless this process is disrupted by incorrect actions.

If while trying to forget about someone new events kept happening that kept reminding you of the person then your recovery process will start from the beginning once again. (see Everything reminds me of him). The reason millions of people don’t recover is that they reset their recovery process whenever they are about to forget about the person and so start all over once again!! Some Practices can hinder recovery In order to forget about someone fast you must prevent yourself from doing the following actions: 1)Daydreaming and thinking about him. Yes we can’t control our thoughts sometimes but we can at least limit them 2)Get rid of the gifts, pictures and memories instead of staring at them everyday 3)Remind yourself everyday that the relationship is over because unless your mind gets rid of hope it won’t be able to heal (see The anatomy of acceptance). 4)Stop going to the same places you used to go to together 5)Understand the true reasons that made you love him and you might find that it was loneliness, love addiction or even the need

As Sennett put it, “Remembering well requires reopening wounds in a particular way, one which people cannot do by themselves.”5 This is very true. I had to reopen wounds that I know I wouldn’t have survived, both literally and figuratively, without knowing that I was not by myself. See, I was raped multiple times when I was younger. I tried my best to forget it, but I couldn’t. It is a memory “which forgetting cannot heal”6 and I needed help with getting over it. This memory, along with the pain that comes along with it, brought my family, friends, and church family closer together because they all wanted to help me deal with…

When people enter into any new relationship, they come to the new with a lot of old fears and unhealed emotional wounds (Daniel Sugarman p757). For example, I had an ex-girlfriend that goes by the name Maria. She was the last girl that I was intimate with before my wife Anita. Maria and I went our separate ways, because she did not want permanent commitment for the second time. Therefore, I moved forward without her, because I was in search of a soul mate. Six months later, I met Anita while attending an Emergency Medical Technical course at Southwestern College. Ironically, we were taking the same course with similar backgrounds; prior work history in medical field. Shortly after, we became study partners, and then passionate companions. Six months later, we got married and had two beautiful girls. Ten years later, I received a friend request via Facebook from my ex-girlfriend Maria. Secretly, I accepted the request; therefore Anita would have been upset, if she found out about Maria. Three months passed and Anita is still not aware of my friendship with my ex-girlfriend Maria. Then one day, I forgot and left my Facebook account unlocked; Anita found out the wrong way. It was a day I will never forget; I could not sleep for weeks, because I would be reminded of my treachery. As a result, I closed my Facebook account and never spoke to Maria…

However, the vast majority of people fail to understand the long-term effects of trauma; therefore, they do not understand why the victim cannot move forward. When attempting to understand the question we must first consider people who dealt with similar situations such as Iraq war veterans. Why does one of the veterans return to normal functioning while the other one develops Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)? Though there is no clear-cut reason the “physiological phenomena persist, traumatized people cannot tune out the repetitive stimuli that other people who find merely annoying; rather they respond to each repetition as though it were new and dangerous” (Lewin,1992). Although the answer is far more complicated than the statement above, it offers you a small glimpse as to how the victim’s brain functions afterwards. There are also three major psychological components of trauma: terror, helplessness and powerless, and abandonment and social isolation (Lewin, 1992). Essentially, the victims of trauma loss the ability trust in those around them because they may feel as if they were failed. The human capacity for cruelty and evil painfully challenges our desire to believe in a just world (Lewin,…

“What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” Helen Keller. Helen Keller describes what it feels like for someone to lose someone else they loved dearly; she says once someone loves someone else intensely they never fully loose them even if they run or pass away, but if they never really loved the someone else, all will be lost. For many people, it seems hard to let go of someone they love, but as they learn that life moves on things have to change, and if they hold on to the grief they might feel, things will not end up the way they pictured. Although, some people might hang on to the last thread of hope they have of that person ever coming back, they still have the memories which come…

Everyone has had a bruise, some of them last longer than others, but they always disappear. Scars, just as Leav writes, leave marks. Both are painful, but one leaves you with the reminder that you were once hurt. When you truly love someone and things don’t work out, you are left with hurt, and pain, confusion, and frustration. “We had no ending, no said goodbye. For all my life, I'll wonder why.” It’s a different type of pain to feel confusion; to never really know why you can’t have the one person you want, to never feel closure. For those who have dealt with never knowing why things ended, they will always have a scar. “What was it like to lose him?" Asked Sorrow. There was a long pause before I responded: It was like hearing every goodbye ever said to me—said all at once.” If you think about all of the times you’ve had to say goodbye to someone you love, you realize that goodbyes are hard and they can be emotionally draining. Imagine all the emotion you feel from all the goodbyes ever experienced, hearing them all at once could wreck a soul. The scars heal, the reminder is there but “Over time she will learn, not to miss them.” It’s not easy missing someone you can’t have, anyone that has experienced this knows and can relate to her writing. It goes hand in hand with the old saying, “time heals all wounds.” With time the pain subsides, and eventually you…

To be forgotten by someone is painful but to be hatefully remembered by someone is more painful. Forgetting takes time and hatefully remembering someone takes a lifetime. Forgetting is forgiving and hatefully remembering would simply mean that you’re not a forgiving person. An unforgiving person would rather carry the burden than simply saying “You’re forgiven.” Forgetting someone takes a lot of courage and strength while hatefully remembering means that you’re weak and can’t accept that people commit mistakes.…
