To light the torch of creativity in your child can be one of the greatest gifts that will benefit your child for a lifetime. Like the primary basics that are fundamental to growth and development; such as food, which keeps the body nourished, and education which facilitates mental development, the ability to be creative is equally essential. Creativity is an ability that effects not just how you view the world but also how you respond and contribute to life itself. The recommendation's suggested in this article are techniques used by my parents on me, as well as are being used by me to raise my sons.
Of course reading to your child is a basic. But what needs to be considered is how and where you read to your child. In terms of how to the tone and energy you put into the reading can be very effective. The stimulation the child receives from seeing and hearing their parents act out what is being read is both fun, and gets the creative juices flowing, especially as your children will start to emulate the action. Also taking your children to different sceneries to read and allow natural sounds and sights to be incorporated into your readings.
Listening to various forms of music, and or playing an instrument around your child is also a natural way to spark and cultivate creative impulses. Music is prov-en to be mentally therapeutic. Music does everything from effect the molecules in living cells, to improve math skills that get creative energy circulating.
Replace TV time with outside time. During summer month's my parents insisted that a majority of the day be spent outside. This is how I learned boredom doesn't exist. Because we spent this time doing everything from climbing the apple tree, to building forts in bushes, and whatever activity we could create so that we wouldn't get bored.
