How to give a dog a bath process essay
Giving a Large Dog a Bath Giving a large dog a bath can be ambitious, but necessary. Some benefits of baths include, a pleasant smell, a healthy dog, a shiny coat, and preventing illnesses. Giving a large dog a bath can be compared to an Olympic sport, the struggle can be lessened by three simple steps; Gather appropriate materials, getting the dog into the tub, and finally washing and drying. When getting prepared to give your furry-friend a bath, make sure you have shampoo, conditioner, a brush, a scooping device, and many towels (make sure to include one for yourself). Go to your neighborhood pet store such as PetSmart or Petco for a wide range of variety. When choosing the right products for your dog, the most important thing to consider is their skin condition. This can get tricky if you’re not sure of a condition he/she may or may not have. When in doubt, check with your veterinarian. If your dog has considerably normal-looking skin, without a greasy coat, then an everyday cleansing shampoo should do the trick. If your dog has dry, flaky skin then they would much rather prefer an oatmeal based shampoo. According to Sanfiz, the author of Which Shampoo Is Right for Your Dog 's Coat and Skin Condition, if your dog’s coat seems dry you may want to opt for a crème rinse conditioner. These are usually thicker, and are left on a bit longer and need to be rinsed well. For adding extra moisture to the coat, a conditioning finisher spray can even follow the grooming. Just be careful not to over condition the coat, as you run the risk of weighing it down and making it appear greasy (Sanfiz). If your dog has five or more quarter-sized knots in various spots throughout the body, do not give it a bath. The water will create tension moving the knot closer to the skin. Seek veterinary help or contact a groomer. At this point you should be prepared and ready to take the next step.
You are now well prepared, so continue. Get your dog 's leash and place it on the
