Even though I did not grow up with many amenities I did had a loving mother who would read books to me before bedtime. Nights which my mom was not around me was spent with my grandmother. When I would read my imagination would fly away. I can still remember the spot I spent most of time reading witch was the roof of my house. I would climbed every afternoon to spend time reading and imagining the amazing bible stories I read. One of the things I quite do not remember much is writing. I only remember having our teacher dictate words and phrases to us. In High School, we would read novels as The Odyssey and The Iliada by Homer. The teacher would put us in groups and each group was required to present our summaries in front of the class and most of the time write essays to support our reading projects
Today I am an adult and God gave me the opportunity to come to the United States to one of the greatest nation that bring us a lot of opportunities. Now my story is different and I am in the process in learning to write and read in English. I have not yet read an entire novel in English like I have done in Spanish but I do enjoy reading articles. I am still learning to fully understand what I read even though I am required to read it twice to comprehend. I might not have enough experience but I feel proud of myself to be in my second semester of school and developing my writing and reading
