Batman has the Joker. Superman has Lex Luthor. And Spiderman has the Green Goblin interfering with his good intentions. For me, my archenemy is Branta canadensis, more commonly known as the Canadian Goose. Yes, the Canadian Goose. A few years ago, my sister had a dance competition at the University of North Florida (UNF). During break, as we walked the campus, a gaggle of geese was gathered near one of the walkways, so jokingly I raised my arms, turned toward the geese, and asked, "Do you want to fight?" Now this may sound silly, maybe even dumb, but my family and I are always joking and laughing, so I was trying to get the laugh. I got the laugh alright. One goose accepted the challenge and proceeded to chase me around for what seemed like several minutes as I was screaming and generally causing a scene on campus. …show more content…
For starters, geese are insanely loyal to each other. Some of my best friends are the same ones I had in grade school and we would do anything for each other. My family falls into this same category too. Whether it is supporting the school clubs I am involved with or supporting the teams I play on, my family is always there for me as I am for them. Loyalty, support and friendships I don't take for granted and appreciate more than they may ever know.
Geese are creatures of habit; they will come back to their place of birth year after year. Like the geese, I've developed habits too, both good and bad. The good habits have led to success in and outside the classroom. My academics and extra curriculars are the result of dedication which is one of the most important habits I've developed. On the flip side, I have a habit of being argumentative. It's a work in progress and, at times, a struggle for me to pick and choose my battles. I know I'm not perfect, never will be, but I can always better
