I want to first apologize for the late start to cheerleading. I have been very busy getting my classroom ready for my first year of teaching in the Van Buren School District and to be honest it has been very tough to set aside time for cheerleading teams. At the moment cheerleader numbers are very low. Our largest team is 3rd grade with just 10 girls. Our smallest team is 4th grade with just 3 girls. No matter how many girls we have we will still cheer on our boys!
Our goal is to have two teams per grade level (1 for green and 1 for white). However, because numbers are low at the moment we only have 1 team per grade level (except for third grade). I will be sending registration forms to every school for meet the teacher night in hopes of having more sign ups. The only issue with this is our first football game is Aug 20th. So quick changes will need to be made. If we do not get enough girls signed up to split into two teams per grade level this will be our alternate option. …show more content…
If we have enough girls to split we will then have 1 team for green and 1 team for white. We will just have to wait and see how many more sign up after school starts.
Either way we are going to go ahead and begin cheer practices. I am sending out cheer rosters tonight and instructing coaches to get in touch with you within the next day about cheer practices. Also attached to this email is our cheerleading Rules and Regulations. Please read through them and become familiar with them. If you happen to have any questions or need any help please do not hesitate to call or text me at 479-926-9325. I am working in my classroom everyday for the next two weeks so if I do not answer right away I will get back with you soon! Thank you again for your
