How To Write A Short Story: Pippy's Haunted House
Hayden quietly shut the door, and all you could hear was the slightest sound of the lock. In front of the door, there was a gigantic staircase that spiraled through out the mansion. While holding me, Hayden slowly crept down the stairs. Once we had successfully made it to the bottom of the stairs, we heard a dog barking. Hayden quickly turned around. Standing behind us was the little girl, and Pippy was in a cage beside of her. Before we could say anything, the girl became very blue and static was forming around her. Suddenly, the girl and Pippy’s cage disappeared out of thin air. Pippy ran out of the mansion and Hayden followed. Hayden attempted to run while carrying me, but it was too difficult. I could tell I was getting heavy. He decided to call his parents and they brought us home. While laying in my bed that night, I just remember seeing a man behind the girl. …show more content…
Then he asked, “What did he look like?” I never told him that the person was a man. “Actually,” I replied, “He looked just like you.” His face turned turned as red as a tomato. He didn’t say anything. “I knew it,” I exclaimed, “You’re going to wish you never did that to me.” I stormed out of the room and walked straight to the sheriff’s office a couple of blocks away. I told the sheriff the whole story and the interviewer got arrested. A couple of weeks later, everything was back to normal, and Hayden and I went on another

With the barrel of her musket propped firmly on the limb of a tree, Charity took steady aim at the deer. The medium-sized buck was grazing at the edge of a thicket of wax myrtles, near where she saw the deer tracks the day before. John and Uriah were squatting in the bushes behind her. She had brought them along to help with the bleeding out of the deer, should she kill one, and to help carry it back to camp. They could then dress it out and help her prepare the meat for making jerky and so forth. She also hoped to can some of the meat so that it would last a lot longer. She was glad that Nancy had shown her how and taught her how to preserve food in glass jars- it was much better than having to dry it all into tough leather strips… Taking careful aim, Charity squeezed the trigger, while saying a quick prayer that the bullet would hit its mark. She was worried that she wasn't close enough to the deer, but if she had tried to get any closer, it would have seen her and ran off into the woods.…

While lying on the grass in the front yard, I imagined the exciting night ahead. Before long, Taylor and his girlfriend, Kara, arrived and picked me up. Almost immediately, I stood up and sauntered in my Duke sweatshirt and basketball shorts over to their car. I jumped into the backseat. Immediately, I was assaulted with the strong smell of perfume that had been sprayed inside the car because it belonged to Kara. Tonight instead of driving, she decided to let Taylor drive illegally without a license. As we drove off to Erik’s house, the rendezvous for tonight’s “Goatman” adventure, we saw a police officer had just pulled a car over. As we drove by, we breathe easier and relaxed because we didn’t see any more cops on the way.…

The old barn was gloomy, but the light of the sun came gleaming in through the cracks of the barn, and made the straw glimmer like little tiny bits of gold. The shingles were in disrepair, however, the structure was sturdy, and the wood that surrounded it was worn with age, but it gave it character. Similarly, hay covered the floor as if it was a shield from danger. Hulga stood in the middle of the barn with her hands on her hips, looking toward the posterior of the barn at the ladder leading up to the loft romanticizing about Pointer and how their passions will ignite. Comparatively, hay covered the floor of the loft which set the prospect of love like a candle lit room. As well as, there being no animals in the barn which gave it a look of…

The Police Department of Alamance County had never seen a victim so composed, so determined and so sure. Just a few hours after her horrifying ordeal, after the emotionless doctor swabbed her vagina for semen samples at the hospital, Jennifer sat down at the police station with Detective Mike Gauldin. "The first comment I remember her making was that, “I'm going to get this guy that did this to me.” She said, “I took the time to look at him. I will be able to identify him if I'm given an opportunity," Gauldin remembered her saying (Hansen, 2001). She began combing through photos, trying to help come up with a composite of her rapist.…

Comparing the novel The Haunting of Hill House and the movie Poltergeist, there are many common factors they share. Both have a female character as a protagonist and a spirit as an antagonist. The two literatures, in print and film, also have the heart of the house revolving around a child's setting. There are still more similarities between both the book and movie, as there are dissimilar. The Haunting of Hill House is taking place in a setting where all of the characters are adult, as supposed to Poltergeist where the ages range from 5 to 60.…

Haunted houses are normally visited during Halloween, which has become a tradition for many people. Men and women visit these haunted houses to experience a bit of danger because people are not sure if these ghosts are a threat; therefore, they must go see to believe. At the end of these haunted houses people should be a bit scared, but they should be able to recognize the fun in it. After I heard a loud beeping noise I knew that he was gone. I pulled out the credit card I stole from his wallet and slid it in between the door frame and the lock. Running, I went to Giselle’s room to unlock her door. As I put the card inside the card snapped. My heart fell to the floor, realizing there was nothing to do to get her out. Slowly, I went to the garage and rummaged through all the trash and found a hammer.…
