A lot of poverty stricken countries use children from ages five to seventeen in warfare. They take children from their homes, and turn them into deadly killers. When the children come back to their homes, they are seen as outcasts and untrustworthy. They have no education, or social skills. Using children as soldiers damages learning, social skills, and how they act later in life. There are more than thirty thousand children around the world that are soldiers (Gettleman). The highest rate of child soldier recruitment is the Asian nation of Myanmar (Gettleman).The reason why countries want soldiers to be children is because, children work for free, they aren't as fearful, and they do what their are told without questions (Gettleman).
