Chimpanzee’s scientific name is Pan Troglodytes. The population is 150,000 -250,000. Although they are our closest living relatives, they are 6-7 times stronger than humans. Chimpanzees do not have a tail, nor can they swim. Some people think that they are monkeys, but they are apes. Something interesting about chimpanzees is that they went to space before humans, and they can also learn sign language. Although chimpanzees are friendly, they can also harm people. They can live up to be 60 years.
