Professionalism is mostly associated with business suits and doctor scrubs. The
word brings to mind Wall Street men with secretaries. It conjures up doctors with
expensive houses and years of college. It can be associated with fancy offices and

Universities have developed
flexible courses geared towards the unpredictable schedule of a Soldier. The army also
enforces a moral code of law known as UCMJ or Uniformed Code of Military Justice.
This code holds Soldiers to a higher standard than US law in some cases.
The HR Sergeant’s Role in the Army Profession. The HR Sergeant exists to
primarily oversee the completion of the administrative needs of Soldiers. This includes
typical things like pay and evaluations, but also covers death notification instructions
and unsatisfactory participation discharges. The HR Sergeant is required to have the
professionalism to keep the vast amount of private information safe and secure. They
need the ability to handle uncomfortable situations with grace. The HR professional is
also required to juggle many priority items at once without making mistakes.
In closing, Soldiers are looked upon with great respect. Every Soldier needs to
do everything in their power to earn and keep that respect. This includes educating
themselves, and living the moral code in and out of uniform. The HR Sergeant
especially needs to keep sensitive information to themselves and maintain proficiency
