Moses “Red” Lambert Week 6 Problem or Issue Investigation HUM 111-Professor Clifton 11/18/2012

Page 2 Describe how you are going to conduct the research necessary to solve the problem or issue. What sources of information will you use? The stressor that I am writing about is a current situation that is going on in my life, first it is a blessing that my wife has found employment; she will be working for the local government. Now I shouldn’t have stressors about this but I do, let me explain, the reason I am feeling these stressors is that I have not been without my wife no more than an hour or two since we said I do. With that being said, I am confident that I will be fine, however I will be tackling home life, raising my nine month old and dealing with my step-daughter, who thinks that she can do as she wishes with no repercussions. I will have to figure what actions are to be taken, to get my step-daughter to behave, I will have to ask myself the questions. What exactly has to be done? Do I need to have her put in after school care? Do I need to get her grandmother or father more involved? Do I need to implement a reward structure plan? How do I get the respect from her, so that she is to want to help out and behave? I feel these actions need to be taken immediately; first I don’t need the extra worries, for I will have enough to worry about with school, my nine month old and my healing process. Second I do not want to come off as the bad guy, however, rules need to be followed, plus she needs to learn some responsibilities. How will you work out the details of your solution to your problem or issue? How will you refine your solution so that it can

We are all aware of the illnesses that are developing in our community. Obviously, this is not genetic because it is attacking various members of our community and has done personal research to link the illnesses to our surrounding environment. I have found information in which the community should be aware. After extensive research, I have discovered the symptoms are because of the gas company not following proper procedures while digging in our community. I have spent several months coming to the solution and connecting the problem to the gas company. I first expecting it was something in the water because it seems to be affecting more people in neighborhoods closer to the drilling sites. I am afraid to inform everyone that it will be in all our drinking water before soon.…

As a local television Director, my main focus is on the local news and the issues that affect the community in which I live. I would choose to make the closing of the parks for three days my lead story and leave the celebrity death to the bigger networks. My first priority is to report news that affects the citizens of the community that I serve, even with the prospect of bigger ratings; I would feel an obligation to my audience to report issues that are more closely related to them.…

The form of media that is very popular is music. This is something that is worldwide is so many different languages. Music has been a part of our lives for decades and it is a media that is not going away at all. There are many different types of music from Country, Pop, R&B, Hip Hop, Gospel, Rock, Jazz and many more. Music is more than just entertainment, it something that can relax you, keep you motivated, or be able to relate to what the person is singing about. Music for me is a way to release stress and to relax when I’m in the car going home, at the gym working out, or at home working on my car. Music has been changing with the way technology has and making the quality of sound much better than it was in the 60’s and 70’s. Music is a big influence on young kids and older people and for some it’s a way for them to express themselves through there music. The way people feel about music can change how they feel about something or if there in a bad mood it can help relieve some of the stress. Music has done a lot for different charities from Breast Cancer, Feeding the Hunger, and for Aids research. Music is not just entertainment as most people may think, this is something that is a way of life for the people that produce and write music. So for me music has always been a part of my life and my family and will continue to be a part of my life and my…

The first argument I chose from the essay states “It is unlikely, for example, that many Americans remember that, earlier in 2001, an earthquake in Gujarat, India, killed approximately 20,000 people. One might explain the difference in reaction by saying that we naturally respond more strongly to the deaths of Americans closer to home than to those of others halfway around the world.” The premise of this argument is when the author states “It is unlikely, for example, that many Americans remember that, earlier in 2001, an earthquake in Gujarat, India, killed approximately 20,000 people”; the conclusion is “One might explain the difference in reaction by saying that we naturally respond more strongly to the deaths of Americans closer to home than to those of others halfway around the world.” The premise of this argument does support the conclusion of the statement. I believe this argument is inductively strong. The argument is strong because it evokes emotions of patriotism. The argument is inductive in the way that it uses the words “unlikely” and “naturally.”…
