Media now can reach its audience on different platforms; television, Internet, and mobile devices. Media convergence makes it easier for everyone to gain access to important information and news headlines. If you do not have a television but have a smartphone, you can still keep up with current events by surfing the web on your mobile device. Technology is constantly changing. In order to keep up you have to be able to evolve with technology and learn how to use the new devices. Many older people are not comfortable with new technology and internet payments and find it difficult to keep up. When new technology emerges to the scene and catches on the older technology often becomes obsolete. Radio used to be the way people received there information, when the television was invented, it allowed its audience to see and hear what was being broadcasted. Now radio are hardly ever listened to, because we have television, computers, and mobile devices. Some people are just not willing to learn the new technology because they find it is easier to stick with what they know. Many people still don’t have internet access in their homes and still use a landline phone, people like this will have to adjust to catch up with the rest of society and that may be hard for them. The internet has changed the way we shop, communicate and read. We can buy basically anything we want without leaving the house.
