Huskies are good family dogs. Huskies are usually fairly good natured with everybody they meet. They are not a type of dog that displays qualities of a guard dog. Some common ones include, black, white, red, grey, tan, copper, brown, and silver. Huskies can also have different patterns in/on their fur. Sable is a color combination where instead of a stark white or cream undercoat they have a red, chocolate brown, or burnt orange colored undercoat. Splash is when they have a white undercoat with a “blanket” of color across their back and head. Agouti is where each individual hair on the Husky has multiple different colors on it. The tip of the tail is generally black. Finally there is Piebald. This is when more than 50% of the Husky’s coat is white, and there are little patches of color across the back. As with their coat, a Husky’s eyes can be a variety of different colors. When most people think of a Husky they think of piercing, ice blue eyes. Blue is the most common, but some other eye colors include green, brown, light brown, amber, and grey. Huskies can have a pattern in their eyes commonly known as parti-eyed. This is when one or both of the dog’s eyes has more than one color. For example, they could have brown eyes, but one of their eyes has green spots or patches. Huskies can also be bi-eyed. This is when the dog has two different colored eyes. Mostly when Huskies are bi-eyed they have one light blue eye and one dark or light brown eye. Eye color does not affect the Husky’s eyesight.
