In other countries, many of them in the Middle East, it is more often than not the fight of a lifetime to get access to an education. I was truly impacted by this fact when I turned to the last page of I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up For Education And Was Shot By the Taliban. In the book, Malala states, "By giving me this height to reach people, he has also given me great responsibility." As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words. It is easy to sit here and write this blog and strictly look at the statistics. According to the Malala Fund, "130 million girls are out of school." To put this number into perspective, a large pizza had ten slices, and each slice represents a girl that is in need of an education. This would work out to 13 million pizzas.
