every body’s response. His speech let me trust him deeply, I believe what he said and what he thought is absolutely right. In this situation, he can deliver his main idea perfectly. His main idea is that every people have their right to seek their dream and make it come true. Third, his conclusion is brief and meaningful. He restated his key point and shows the audiences a bright future. Fourth, the organization of this speech is perfect. He analyzed the audiences and the background of his audiences. He chose a right topic for his audience. He also did so well in the words choosing. He used the right words in the right occasion. The transactions used between the paragraphs are brief, but meaningful. These transactions make this speech smoothly. The audiences can know where is going clearly. I also like his tone in this speech; he emphasized the important points with a strong tone. Through this way, I can feel his feeling clearly. He also uses the eye contact to make the connection with audiences. In this way, I can feel that he was speaking to me personally and it can also arouse my passion. d.
First, in the opening, he said “Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand signed the Emancipation Proclamation.” And then, in this second paragraph, he said “But one hundred years later, we must face the tragic fact that the Negro is still not free.” This opening is directly to his mail opinion in this speech. He used the source to indicate what right they should have, but they didn’t get. This opening can let the audiences think about it in order to make the explanation in the next paragraphs. Second, he used check as the promise to describe how wonderful the promise is and then talked in a conversely way to say “It is obvious that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned.” In this way, he aroused the audiences’ passion again. After this, he pointed out how to do to fight for their rights. The sentence “We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence.” He used parallel construction to emphasize what he want this situation to be in the future as his goal. The construction is “we cannot be satisfied as long as……” Through these parallel sentences, I think the audiences know what they want exactly. Then, he stated his dream in a parallel construction. In the last part, he restated the freedom, such as “Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado!” These sentences I
think are powerful to the audience. So, he concluded his mail idea in the last part. e. In the public speaking, I think I should analyze the audience first in order to find out what kind of a group people I would face. When I know what the audiences’ background, I should choose the topic carefully. I should choose the topic which is fit my audience in order to arouse their responses. The restated idea is important, because I should lead the audience within the topic. The words used in the speech should be chosen carefully, because some good words can make a good atmosphere. The volume, gesture and eye contact are also important; because they can translate you emotion to the audiences. f. I think I should use some sample ways, such as the right words, good eye contact or faithful figures.
