I Want To Be A Therapist
As I come to the end of my high school years and ready to move on with my life I am hit with the biggest question I have come to answer. "What do you want to major in?” It is the question that determines your future, and changes your entire life. It is a question that shouldn’t be taken lightly. But theres so many possible answers to this question. Do you want to be a teacher? A therapist? An engineer? My answer is nursing. When people hear of this career choice, they assume that it is simply just one that cares for the sick. But when I hear of the career choice it seems to be so much more. When I think of nursing, I think of someone that cares, not just for patients but everyone within their life. I think of someone who assists everyone
in need no matter the extent. I think of someone who works hard with everything they do. To me nursing seems to be this career that is so rewarding, and a career that is constantly teaching. It is a career that shares opportunities so powerful that I personally want to participate in. It draws me in like no other. Though I have no personal experience with nursing, I do have experience in caring, and assisting. I have work experience through retail, and babysitting that has helped with both of those important aspects. I have also taken different classes within my high school years such as CPR and first aid, anatomy and physiology, and human development. All have been so influential, and have also helped me and proved to me that nursing is a career I am genuinely interested in. I also feel that I am well suited for this career because I am a very outgoing, caring, patient person. I am also empathetic, and compassionate. No one in my family is in the nursing career or in any medical field career for that matter but I hope to be the first. I have done a ton of research on the nursing career and it has not failed to impress me and interest me. It is a career that will allow me to make a difference and a positive impact. You are not only benefiting others, but yourself as well. As you help them, it just seems so rewarding. It is a goal of mine to attend college and eventually become a nurse in pediatrics. Though it will all be so new to me I am willing to learn, and I am willing to work hard for what I want. It is not an easy process to achieve these goals but I will persevere.
