The caliber of work done by Louisiana State University Health Science Center has been recognized as high quality by national faculty. This is important for solidifying a foundation of applicable knowledge in an always-advancing career field. Another important determining factor in choosing Louisiana State University Health Science Center, I wanted to stay local for school because I understand the program will be very demanding. I believe in order to properly develop the public one must have ample enough experience researching various cases, practical knowledge, as well as, hands on experience in the subject matter. Being very familiar with research, my aspirations would be to become a clinical research nurse. I’ve functioned as a Clinical Research Coordinator in Neurosurgery at Ochsner Health Systems, where it was part of my job to communicate with patients and consent them for a particular study. I desire to continue to enhance my understanding of stroke treatment. The element in which I would value the most is an extensive knowledge to raise a properly educated public. In sharing that knowledge, I want to start a non-profit organization for low-income communities that would emphasize public health consciousness. My program would not only inform the students on medicinal research and public health awareness, it would also introduce them to a fuller spectrum of health care they may not have access to due to the lack of resources.
