From the time Ida Wells was born she took interest in the flaws of our society. She was

This put a halt in Wells’ career and forced her to take on a teaching job in order to take care of her siblings
("Ida B. Wells Barnett," 1992). She turned out to be a very well-liked and successful teacher, but was withdrawn her position when the board of education discovered she lied about her age

Discrimination," 2000). Desperate to find a starting point for her original purpose, Wells often found herself traveling by train. She got tired of being told where she could sit and took a stand.
She was, as expected, kicked off of the train, but used this experience as an opportunity to see where she stood and decided to sue the company. Shockingly, she won the case ("Ida B.
