Abstract The client’s business currently spread all over the United States and is in a need for a payroll program for their large organization. The client has one large data center that each office connects to via a wide area network (WAN). The focus of this paper is to explain the type of architecture the new payroll application should use and also identify the types of technology will be involved with the architecture. In addition to that, the paper will briefly identify any potential ethical issues that could arise in connection with the new architecture.
Payroll Application Architecture The client already has their organization connected to a large data center server via a WAN. Keeping that in mind, …show more content…
As with all network resources there is always the possibility of the system being hacked or misuse of the data by trusted employees. In this case, the company must give privileges to trust worthy employees to have access which can be vital to the company reputation. System monitoring is recommended to spot unusual network traffic and server requests. Along with user permissions, strong passwords and Mac address filters will help to mitigate these issues that might arise if the security of this system compromised.
In conclusion we have addressed the client requirements for their new payroll architecture using the client/server which takes advantage of their current hardware and network, addressed network server loads and provided a processing model that allows for scalability and security. This system architecture marks the end of the system design phase and the next step will be to prepare the system design specification, obtain user approval and deliver a presentation to management.
