Industry lifecycle
25 years ago, the company was in its infancy, working primarily from project to project. The sharp increase in the industry occurred in the mid to late 1990s, with a change of ownership and a strategy to create a critical mass, develop new fi lms and establish a wider network of new theatres. It was at this point that commercial theatres were introduced to the industry.
Further development within the industry will be spurred by the production of new fi lms and an increased network in which to screen the fi lms. However, the production of new fi lms is greatly infl uenced by the number of theatres available to screen them; and the development of more IMAX theatres is infl uenced by the number of available fi lms to offer visitors. This “catch-22” situation has characterised much of the industry’s early days and will be a signifi cant determinant of its future growth.Industry lifecycle

Staggering movie times would mean less wait in the concession, people don’t like to wait and if you have 4 movies showing at the same time with 60 people at each showing, and if 25% of the people want concession foods, that could be 80 people waiting in line for a movie that starts in 10 min. It is less hassle for the movie theaters to stagger times for their concessions rather than all at the same time. A Mulitscreen theater showing helps the mall revenue. The malls always have a food court which while you are waiting or go window shopping could lead into people buying goods from the mall when they only wanted to go to the…

World War II (WW II) helped hasten the dismantling of the British Empire. As Khan explains on page xii some 5 million persons joined the British military, over half of them came from South Asia. One quote reflects something that was likely echoed by every South Asian soldier who fought for the British crown, “We suffered in the war but you didn’t…we bore this so that we might be free” (Khan xi). As Khan eloquently states, despite what millions of westerners have heard about World War II, “Britain did not fight the Second World War, the British Empire did.”…
