Abstract:
To achieve competitive advantage, merger and acquisition (M&A) has become a strategic option for organizations. A phenomenal change has been witnessed in India in recent years, owing to the liberal reforms executed by the Government of India. This research study investigate the impact of M&A on the employee 's job motivation and job satisfaction, psychological and behavioral impact The research witnessed unsatisfactory level of job security and motivation and psychological behavioral aspects among employees who worked in post M&A. The paper broadly stress about the impact of M&A on human resource which is always overlooked. It talks about the advantages of M&A. Although mergers are seen as tools to enhance business in today 's global marketplace, they have had a low success rate, possibly because the focus has been on financial and legal issues rather than on the human factors involved. In this respect, focusing on the social psychological variables, social identity theory can provide an explanation for the failure of most mergers.
