Being culturally sensitive and being culturally competent lie hand in hand. Being culturally competent means being able to combine sensitivity and knowledge. Being able to do this will bring a more appropriate way of communication. So it is more important to be able to combine being sensitive about a person’s culture but still have knowledge about their culture so that you are being sensitive not ignorant.
