Suspicion of maltreatment or abuse but most tend to be overlooked by people as they just put it down to children just being children or the child’s personality. These factors that would lead to suspicion of maltreatment or abuse can be separated into two key elements; these are the physical and behavioural elements of the child. Physically maltreatment or abuse will be suspected if a child is coming in with bruises or unexplained injuries, if the child is suffering from soreness, consent infections, poor hygiene and is under weight.
