importance of water
Human body needs three requisites for its smooth functioning – oxygen, water and food in that order. Our first requirement to live is oxygen since we cannot survuvive more than a few minutes without taking oxygen.Water has been ranked as second only to oxygen as essential for life because we can stay for a few days without drinking water. Then comes the food.
Human body is made up of two-thirds of water and one-third of solid matter. The average adult body is 55 to 75% water. A human embryo is more than 80% water. A newborn baby is 74% water.Human survival is dependent on water.
Water is more important than matter for our body and the ratio of 2:1 should be maintained everyday.Every activity in the body is propelled by water. It is the water, which is responsible for two third of activity in the body.
The supply of all-important water to the body helps it to perform its duties perfectly maintaining good health. There is no harm to the body even if we skip food once in a day. The food stored in the body comes handy when we skip food. However, if we do not drink water for some time or for a whole day it triggers serious trouble inside. It is wrong to think that if we drink water once it will be stored for a long time and meets the needs of the body. Water is beneficial only when we take it whenever body needs it. As food is emptied from stomach, water is also emptied from the body from time to time. As we fill the empty stomach with food we must also supply water to the body.
If the body has to get full benefit of the food we eat, it is possible only through water. The benefit to the body from the higher quantity and expensive food we eat is possible if the water we take is adequate. Nowadays man eats many varieties of food and yet his energy is low. If we reduce food intake by 50 per cent we can work more vigorously and can put in more hours of work.Unless we experience it for ourselves we will not know about the benefit of consuming plenty of water.
If we are to

Why is water essential to health maintenance? Water is the “great regulator” in the body. It has several functions: to dissolve nutrients and move them throughout the body, to flush and carry waste particles from the body, and to assist in regulating pressure across all systems within the body. So, where is the water in our bodies? It is estimated the over half your body weight is comprised of water. Men actually tend to carry more water as they tend to have higher muscle mass: about 60 to 65% water. Muscle tissue is comprised of about 75% water. Women fall somewhere between 50 and 60% of water weight (Grosvenor, Smolin, 2006). Water is in the cells that make up tissue and organs: even in our bones. The water inside cells is called intracellular fluid and passes through the walls of cells with the assistance of proteins, sodium, and potassium which are dissolved in the body. This ebb and flow of intracellular fluid controls the levels of dissolved substances in the different compartments of the body. When particle concentrations are too high, water flows in to dilute, lowering the concentration to a proper level. When too low, water flows away from the compartment, thus raising the concentration. This process of diffusion is called osmosis. Osmosis is a mechanism in nature by which water in an organism is used to balance dissolved particle…

Drinking water regularly offers many benefits. Water is the most important thing in our bodies. It is so important that our brains signal us to feel thirsty after just 1-2% of water loss. Water is key to many of the body’s vital functions. It lubricates the spaces around the spine and major organs. It is used to help regulate our body temperature and it is needed for proper digestion of the food we eat. It is also used to flush waste and toxins from our bodies. Water also doesn’t have artificial sweeteners, dyes, or preservatives. It is natural and helps you maintain correct pH levels. The chemical reactions that take place in our body on a daily basis rely on water as well. Monomers of the organic compounds in the body use dehydration synthesis and hydrolysis to build and break down larger molecules. Each time this occurs they gain and lose water…
