Importance of a Friend
Specific Purpose: to motivate somebody to be a friend
Central Idea: to inspire someone to be a friend and not pass judgement

1. No matter how strong, we may think we may be, we all need someone to lean on

B. By doing reseach on this speech, I have became more aware of bullying and how frrquwntly it is occurring, not only in high school, but the college level to.

II.The Need Step
A. If we want to accept it or not bullying is a frequent thing teens and preteens face many iend lives do to it, if the bullying gets severe enough, for instance look at Amanda Todd.
1. Amanda Todd killed herself after a long line of bullying.
2. She was a young female who had a long life ahead of her
3. In my opinion, I feel that if she would have had atleast one friend stand behind her and hold her hand through this, she possibly would be alive eight now.
B. People are thankful for friends
1. My grandma passed away the night before graduation unexpectedly
2. My phone was flooded with text messages, phone calls, and voicemails each were kind words offering condolences for my families loss. All the kind words made me appreciate my friends even more
3. I don’t think I could have got through it without my friends.
C. Next time, your walking across campus, smile at somebody, be friendly, maybe your going to be the person one day that needs a friend
D. And always remember the golden rule; do unto others as you have them do to
