The setting we chose is in the sports work setting. The setting is training in NBA. 1. ATTENTIONAL PROCESS
The model in the setting is the NBA veteran who teaches the rookie how to shoot a 3 point shot. The NBA veteran shows that the shot comes from the strength from bending the knees. The veteran also shows that there must be a follow through after the shot. 2. RETENTION PROCESS
The NBA rookie then remembers what his mentor told him how to shoot. 3. MOTOR REPRODUCTION PROCESS
The rookie now applies what the mentor has told him. 4. REINFORCEMENT PROCESS
The rookie now chooses if he will continue to do the steps his mentor told him. If he is successful with the steps then he will continue to do it. If not, then he will probably find new ways to shoot.
EXTINCTION As a new employee Peter plans to impress his boss. Peter’s desk is just near the boss’ office. During his first days at works, he is the one who opens the door of the boss’s office. He always gets praised and thanked by the boss. He is happy with this since his effort is noticed. As time passes, the boss doesn’t thank him anymore and just walks inside his office. Peter noticed this and decided to just stay on his area. Therefore, his behavior on opening the boss’s door is extinguished.
Variable Ratio Allan is in a shipment company where they are looking for customers that need their service. He needs to make calls to other companies to look for customers. His behavior is to make calls and his consequence is finding a customer. The ratio is the numbers of calls that he will make and the variable is unknown since he doesn’t know after how many calls will it take for him to look for a
