In the year 2017, Indra Nooyi announced that they will be now more committed towards making healthier products, protecting the environment and empowering their own employees. Since she grew up in India and belonged to a city which had the water scarcity, she understands the environmental implications that a beverage plant might have on water sources and is continuously trying to work towards better technology which will help in reducing the usage of water in beverage plants. She is also very focused on empowering her employees and dreams to create an organizational culture where employees not only work for a living, but can also have lives. She is particularly focused towards Women empowerment and has taken on herself to uplift them which is why in several PepsiCo quality-control labs across the world there are only women employees.
