Infant Co-Sleeping Research Paper

Environmental Safety for your Infant; Co-Sleeping and it’s Dangers The pamphlet created on Co-sleeping with infants was presented to a co-workers sister who has a 2 week old son. The mother’s age is 31, and her highest level of education is a High School Diploma – which while attaining this diploma, remedial education classes were attended. Healthcare knowledge of the mother and family are minimal. The mother, Ms. Brown, was very receptive to my education about having the baby co-sleep. Ms. Brown is breastfeeding her son, and validated that she was encouraged to allow her son to sleep in the bed with her by the Le Leche team at the hospital at which she delivered. The information was well received, and in fact, Ms. Brown pulled out her old
bassinet that was given to her for her older child and set it up next to the bed for use with her newborn. Overall, I believe the purpose of my presentation and pamphlet fulfilled it’s objectives by potentially saving a child’s life, and helping a mother to realize the risks of allowing your newborn infant to sleep with adults in the bed.
