insisted on him staying with us, since uncle was alone for around 20-40 years already. A couple days later I wake up, and greet my uncle good morning, and to my surprise, me, a 9 year old, found him not waking up. I grab my father and ask why uncle wasn’t waking up, and he said go over to your grandparent’s house. I ask why, and my father says, “JUST DO IT!”, I close the door, and hear my dad cry for the first time ever, and he was a very strict man, a man of business, the man who didn’t show emotion. Cancer is not a joke. To this very day, I hear jokes about cancer, like, “this is such cancer”, “you’re so cancerous”, and this upsets me because, though some of them were online, most of them I actually know, they didn’t have any care in the world about how cancer is to people who have experienced it, or had a friend or family member die from it. What has america turned into?, A place where we can make stupid jukes about serious matters? Take the event Nine Eleven, for an example, in fact people still make jokes about Nine Eleven, though they know many people died from it, and it broke many families. Cancer is not a joke, a pun, a toy, or a statement, to be made fun of, it is a serious statement, that happened out of pure cruelty from this world, and though we should be happy, and move on from let’s say, Cancer, Nine Eleven, the Holocaust, and etc; we should always remember that people died defending, innocent or non innocent people who DIED, so we didn’t have to die. There are so many types of cancer.
It is scientifically proven to this day, that there are at least 100 types of cancer, Lung cancer, Heart cancer, Leg cancer, Arm cancer, Radiation cancer, Brain cancer, you name it, and the world has it. “Cancer does not have a face until it’s yours or someone you know.” -Anthony Del Monte. Though cancer is mostly from exposure to radiation, it could be just because of a genetic symptom, that you, or someone else was given when they were born, or were developing, from their DNA, or genetics from their family tree. Cancer can’t be given, unless it’s a genetic mutation, or from radiation. I have heard so many jokes about cancer, people have laughed to me when I said, “Oh, did you guys hear, someone died of breast cancer, a couple days ago.” They would, and did respond with, “Pff, Breast cancer, a man who died of breast cancer, isn’t …show more content…
a man at all.” It really does pain me to see people who consider cancer as a humorous joke or statement, and though I make jokes sometimes, I always attempt to be considerate when it comes to making choices, about spreading rumors, statements, or opinions, that someone or something happened a certain day.
People make fun of cancer, they think it’s a funny joke, or prank, that they can rustle with their friends about, to make a corny statement, without thinking is unwise, in any circumstance.
Take it for example, we always should think about something, before we perform it, even the simplest of tasks, such as what’s 1+1, we’re still thinking, though we sometimes say, “Pff, it’s 2, you idiot, that’s such a easy question, why would you even ask that?”, outloud or in our mind, I bet that everyone has thought of that mindset. So take the time to think about serious, or even unserious matters, serious or not, they might affect somebody, since serious, or not serious, always matters on the perspective, time, place, mood, feeling, and word. We may not consider it, but so many people are depressed, heck some people have even gotten so depressed, that they have committed suicide, because they cared so much about that one, that they loved. Cancer is a pain can’t be truly shown, cancer is a pain that can only truly be felt, by those who have it, or by those who know one who has it. “Cancer does not have a face until it’s yours or someone you know.” -Anthony Del
Monte.
