Smoking causes terrible health problems in general, but especially if you start smoking in the early years of your life. Some of the health problems include cough, increased phlegm productions, an increase in respiratory illnesses, decreased physical fitness, an unfavorable lipid profile, potential retardation in the growth and development of the lungs, and the level of maximum lung function. It is estimated that 44,000 Americans die each years from diseases that are related to the use of tobacco. One in five adolescents between the ages of thirteen and fifteen smoke worldwide. The amount of teenage smokers is an epidemic. Every day, six thousand children start smoking, and two thousands of those children will become addicted and begin smoking regularly. These health problems especially prevail if you begin smoking at such a young age. This being said, we need to find a solution to this huge problem. We could possibly ban tobacco commercials, as a lot of the influence to start using tobacco products comes from the positive portrayal of them. This problem does not need to be ignored any longer, and something needs to be done about
