Softball Positions
Have you ever played softball? Are you interested in playing or want to try? Well then you are listening to the right person. I am going to teach you about three kinds of positions in the game of softball.

The one thing that might fool you is that you have to wind up your arm like a windmill and release right at your hip. You can’t just throw like a baseball pitcher. They can also try to get the batter out by pitching three strikes. A strike happens when the ball goes straight across home plate and the batter either misses it or doesn’t swing the bat.

Once again, there's a runner on first base when you receive the ground ball. You come up with the ball and throw it to the second baseman who is on second base waiting to receive the ball with his foot on the bag. Once he has received the ball he makes his throw to the first baseman who is stretched out with his foot on the bag trying to make the play before the runner touches first. This is the ¨5-4-3¨…

Baseball and softball are alike in so many ways. So I will just give you a few examples. One example is that in softball and baseball each team has 9 players. These sports both have the same positions. A second example is that the bat length is about the same, the weight is not the same simply because girls just aren’t as strong as guys are. The bats length is usually around 31-34 inches. Then the last example is that each team…

There are many forces that take place in baseball. The pitcher applies forces to a ball, in order to strike out the batter. The pitcher determines the speed and velocity of the ball. The pitcher can make the ball do different and unique things. For instance a curve ball is one example; the pitcher can apply a type of force to the ball so that it descends just as soon as it gets close to the batter, which messes with the batters mind thinking he will hit it. The pitcher arm acts as if it was lever giving them a certain amount of mechanical advantage which increases his force. When the ball is spinning a curve ball is created. The ball creates less pressure when the faster flowing air is under the ball. This forces the ball to dive or break. Drag forces actually makes baseball. There wouldn’t be any curves, sliders, or knuckle ball without drag forces. The most important breaking ball and most starting pitchers in MLB is a curve ball. As the pitchers throw the ball, they snap their wrist with a turning motion. The ball gathers up air by its stitching. This causes the ball rotation which creates higher air pressure on a side…

America’s pastime and the tailed off version. The similarities and differences between baseball and softball. Baseball and softball are different and similar, the most obvious ones to the common eye are baseball fields are much larger and have a minimum of 300 feet and the players pitch overhand while in softball the field is a minimum of 200 feet and the players pitch underhand. The similarities entail the general concept of the game like “three strikes you’re out” and also while hitting the players both want to make contact with the ball and the bat the exact same way because they both want a nice level line drive rather than a pop-up.…

If the batter fails to hit a well pitched ball or if he hits it so that it goes outside the field is called a strike. When the batter starts running he is now referred to as the “runner”. The runner’s goal is to reach a base where they could be safe. The defensive players try to stop the runners from reaching base by putting him out using the ball. Runners that get put out leave the field and go to the bench or dugout that’s the place where other inactive players watch the game.…

When it comes to pitching in softball and baseball you will be able to spot the difference right away. Pitchers in baseball throw the baseball over hand while softball players throw the softball underhand. Since softball players throw softballs underhand there is a difference in the pitching rules of baseball and softball. Softball players do not a have a regulation on how many innings they can throw, while baseball players have a limit of how many innings they are allowed to throw. This rule was established because throwing overhand takes a huge toll on the arm, while throwing underhand is more of a natural motion. The similarity between these two sports is the way pitches are called, balls and strikes, and hits and walks determine both sports and the outcome in the end.…

Baseball is a game of skill that requires two teams consisting of nine players; a field, and equipment, such as gloves, bats and baseballs. To start, you will need nine willing players per team to participate. One team plays defence in the field , while the other plays offense at bat. The pitcher throws the baseball to the catcher with a offensive hitter in the batter's box trying to hit the pitched ball. Next, the umpire is the official that calls balls and strikes. A strike is a pitch thrown by the pitcher that crosses the plane of home plate between the hitters knees and letters, which is chest height. If it is within this zone, it’s a strike. If the pitch is not in this zone, it is a ball. If the hitter does not hit the pitch into the playing field before receiving three strikes, he is out.…

Baseball pitching is usually overhand or sidearm, while softball pitching must be done underhand. Nevertheless the major league pitching speeds exceed over ninety miles an hour in baseball, while fastpitch softball can be from sixty to seventy miles an hour. Not only are the pitching styles are different, but you can also notice a difference in how both softball and baseball players approach a pitch. When hitting a…
