with my audience because I am confident that the facts I am providing are true and accurate. My audience will likely know that obesity is a huge epidemic that our country is facing. Some may also be dealing with obesity on a personal level, whether it is a close friend, or family member, it will be beneficial to learn more about obesity and potentially save a life. My audience will benefit from listening to this presentation because they will learn ways to prevent obesity, the struggles an obese person my face, and how to reach a healthy weight. Whether or not those who listen to this presentation are obese, they will likely know someone who is. Understanding what it means to be obese and how someone with obesity struggles throughout the day, will lead them to become more understanding to those who suffer, which is why this speech will benefit everyone, including myself and my audience. I plan to use strategies to keep my audience attentive and interested in my speech. I will have a powerpoint, use inflection in my voice, and have pauses so my audience will not get bored or distracted and respond in accordance with my purpose. To establish a link between myself and my audience, I can share with them that one of my family members is obese and she worries about becoming a diabetic. Her body weight adds to her daily stress on both her body and mind. Obesity is something we can and need to stop!
