Rabies will eventually spread to the brain and lead to death. Early symptoms are usually very similar to other illnesses. The virus will eventually spread all over the central nervous system. It usually comes from wild animals such as raccoon's and bats. Factors that can increase the risk to the virus include traveling or living in developing countries where the rabies virus is more common. After an attack try to contain or capture the animal without injuring anyone else any further. If anyone has captured the infected animal they should tell the doctor about the animal and they should then contact the local health department on what to do with the animal. If a person is not certain that the animal that bit them has rabies, then both that human and animal will need to be test for the virus.
