Informative Speech On Therianism
Only about 0.03 percent of the world population are therians. That means that there are only about 2,092,200 in the whole world out of 6.974 billion people, and only 94,173 in the United States. Not many people know anything about therianthropy. Therianism or therianthropy isn’t an easy topic to teach someone about, it’s mostly learned through experience rather than someone telling you what it is, but I’m going to try to teach you as much as I can about therianism. It’s hard to start, but I guess I should start by telling you what therianism is, followed by what’s called shifting (which you will learn more about later on), and last the folklore and theories that involve therianism.
According to Wulf Howl, a therian is “A person who is, feels,

In the therian world, there are meanings for everything from the animals to the colors and names. Not many therians know about the meanings of the colors they see, but sometimes having a loving for one color means more than you think. For example, if you like the color green it may mean you have some connection with nature and balance. If you like the color blue, it may mean there is something in your life that is unbalanced but balanceable. Each color has it’s own meaning, and each meaning is unique. One of the many beliefs that therians have is that at one point, whether it be past life or present, they were a real animal. Therians wonder if maybe they were sent to this life because they did something wrong and were banished from the spirit world. Some other theories are that they were sent here not because they did something wrong but because they have some reason to be here, whether it be simply helping someone or just pure curiosity got them sent to the real world. In the folklore I have read it speaks of fox quite often, and they talk about how the fox therian had to hide in order to survive. In the story “Fox Hill near Dodow” they speak of how therians must hide “One day a great hunt was organized, and our fox was among those pursued by the huntsmen. A bullet hit him, and suddenly a schoolmaster was lying there before the bewildered huntsman. The bullet had struck the fox strap and ripped it apart.” Many of the folklore about fox therians involve death. I’m not sure why, but they always seem to have a loving for death. Their love for death is a bit creepy, but maybe it’s because they are scavengers, so places like graveyards are a great place to find food. One folklore comes in my mind when I think of a fox, this story speaks of how the fox therian became human because he/she wanted to, but in order to become human the fox must find a

Hello, my name is Lexie. I am about to turn 15 years old. This means I finally get to have my Quinceanera! You may be wondering, “What is a Quinceanera?”. A Quinceanera is a Hispanic tradition that celebrates a young girl’s coming of age. I may live in America, but my family is HIspanic. My dad is from South America, and my mom is from Mexico. I can’t wait to be able to celebrate my Hispanic heritage! Another question you may have is, “Why do Hispanics have a Quinceanera?”. The Quinceanera celebrates a young girl’s (Me!) and acknowledges her journey from childhood to womanhood. “What happens at a Quinceanera?’, you ask? Well, a Quinceanera has customs based on God, family, friends, food, dance, and music. The festivities welcome religious traditions, responsibility, and family virtues. The Quinceanera begins with a religious ceremony. Then, there is a reception held in the home of the family or a place where parties are usually held. During a reception, there is food, music, and there may even be a waltz or dance performed by the Quinceanera and her Court. The Court of Honor is a thing where the…

The Italian Renaissance artist, Titian, was arguably the best painter of the Venetian school. Titian was born in 1488 in Pieve de Cadore, Venice, Italy and died there on August 27, 1576. He mostly composed religious and mythological pictures, setting standards for physical beauty and lust (C.S. Forester, 695). For example, in Titian's work, "Venus and Adonis", he constructed an image of a nude woman viewed from the back reaching for a male in one of his mythological pieces (W.R. Rearick, 25). His reputation has never suffered a decline and was even declared by art theorist, Giovanni Lomazzo, "the sun amidst small stars not only among the Italians but all the painters of the world" (Marco Sampaolo, 696). Titian's two major cycles of paintings of mythological and religious subjects are considered as one of the most influential and crucial creations of the Italian Renaissance. Even today his paintings continue to cloud their image as portrayed by scholars (W.R. Rearick, 23).…

    The Chain of Command Concept

    • 1636 Words

For each of the four situations noted, what organizational concepts apply? Identify the concept and explain the related problem. -Two welders, unable to get a decision from their supervisor, requested time off. One welder had a dentist appointment and the other needed to leave early to pick up an anniversary present. The “Chain of Command” concept relates to this problem because the “Chain of Command” carries orderly progressions up and down the chain for both decision making and communication to occur, in this particular situation it is a concern and problem because the line is clearly broken (within the “Chain of Command”) (hierarchy) not allowing for the proper formal decision making process and communication to occur. -A review of the previous day’s shipping log revealed that nothing had been shipped. The reason: a customer had called about a bottom bracket --- the place where the bicycle pedals attach--- which made the customer’s $4,000.00 bike useless. The customer service department had the authority to stop everything to solve the customer’s problem. In this case, it meant turning off the final threading machine for a day, which brought the shipments to a halt. The “Line and Staff” concept would apply the most in this situation because it relates directly with the organizational process to the “staff” department communicating to the “line” (production) department (through advice, service, assistance) instead of the “staff” and “line” working as its own entity so to speak and causing an organization to fail their main objectives. -After little discussion, Korenblat made a decision to redesign the brakes on road bikes, assuming it would be less expensive. Shortly after the first production run began, the person in charge of purchasing insisted on rehashing the decision. It turned out that the new design would lead to a series of new expenses--- adding up to more than…
