I think this book was great. This book has more detail than Lord Of The Rings making it slow sometimes. I liked how the writer interviewed the McCandless family after Christopher's death making the book seem much more personal. If you ever want to go on an adventure, NEVER be like Christopher McCandless.
A year after Christopher McCandless body was found inside an abandoned bus in the Alaskan wilderness, John Krakauer traced his footsteps and wrote this book about him, interviewing all the people involved in Christophers life.
Out of all the people McCandless has met so far on his journey, the one he seems to grow closest with is Ronald Franz. Franz sort of becomes a second father to McCandless, providing him with money, a place to stay, and travelling with him at certain points. Franz obviously cares about McCandless a lot, and even asks if he can adopt him. Ronald is an 80 year-old marine with, strong arms, and a kind heart. He is also a strong Christian. His only child died and his father and mother were both only children given the reason to adopt Christopher
