Causes of poor grades of Third Year High School students of Rizal High School: An Assessment
Introduction
Many students admit that they had their best year in high school when they were in Junior year compared to their other year levels. It may be caused of their set of classmates because they already made great memories together when they were in their lower years. Junior year is also considered by the students as not so stressful year for them since they don’t have to focus their selves in studying for an upcoming National Achievement Test/National Career Assessment Examination that they need to pass in order to move in the next year level. But not every student in different year levels can have a happy and accomplished academic year. Some students cannot achieve their goals for the school year most especially when it comes to their academic grade, so the researchers would conduct a study on the causes of the poor grades the Third Year High School students in Rizal High School are experiencing.
This thesis contributes new and unique evidences about the causes of having poor grades in Third Year High School students of Rizal High School in Pasig City. Problems in school are rarely well understood by parents, and often are misunderstood by teachers and physicians as well. Poor grades usually are blamed on laziness, low intelligence, or a learning disability. Behaviour problems are usually blamed on bad attitudes or being spoiled.
Having this poor grades may also affect a child’s behaviour and life, peers are also the main reason why students today are getting poor grades, Some are external factors, such as the subject matter is too difficult, the teacher is hard to understand, and problems at home. Other reasons have to do with student attitudes, such as didn't do homework and goofed off in class. Finally, there are reasons related to personal issues, such as test anxiety and problems concentrating. High school may be a challenging time for many students,
