INTRODUCTION

Humor is infectious. The sound of roaring laughter is far more contagious than any cough, sniffle, or sneeze. When laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness and intimacy. Laughter also triggers healthy physical changes in the body.
Humor and laughter strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress. Research shows that during intense laughter the human body releases endorphins, which is the body’s natural pain killer. Survey shows that an average adult only laughs 15 times per day, probably the reason why so many adults are overweight because infants laugh about 300 times a day. Laughing is a great cardiac exercise, laughing for just a few seconds gets your heart pounding, blood flowing, your belly and cheek muscles working. It's no surprise that theirs clear health benefits for belching out loud at something you find amusing. Laughter is a powerful antidote to stress, pain, and conflict. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert.
