Organisational behaviour (OB) is the study of human behaviour in organisational contexts with a focus on individual and group processes and actions. The knowledge of OB should enable to explain and predict human behaviour in organisations and even to control it. This is important for all who work and manage in organisations.
The purpose of this assignment is to relate a movie on the human behaviour in the organisation. Morning Glory is one of the movies that show the behaviour in organisation. There are five topics given to discuss based on the movie Morning Glory and this assignment is focusing on one of the topic that is Abilities and Skills.
The movie Morning Glory is about a young woman who struggles to revitalize a TV show by bringing back the legendary TV anchor hoping that her plans to improve the show works. The key moments in Roger Michell’s comedy Morning Glory comes when Becky Fuller (Rachel McAdams), which are the ambitious and the workaholic executive producer of the morning news show “Daybreak”. Morning Glory contains a lot of the same elements that made that earlier film a hit namely an immensely likeable young woman thrust into a powerful position at work for the first time in her life. This movie seems to be about a young career woman learning to have it all by surviving a trial-by-fire at the hands of an uncaring boss. She is struggling to save her relationship, her reputation, her job and ultimately the show itself.
