CHAPTER I
A. INTRODUCTION
Mosquitoes are present everywhere. They are the main carrier of dengue and malaria which cause to death. Every year the rate of death caused by dengue and malaria continue to get higher. Some of the ways of to prevent these are cleaning the environment and using insect repellence that totally wrecked the fatal defense of mosquitoes. Insect repellence is also harmful to us. It is made of chemicals which bring to us in jeopardy. These chemicals affect the mosquitoes and even our health. So instead of good effects, the chemical repellence may take our health at risk. That is why we came up to one purpose. This is the reason why the researcher decides to make cow dung as a mosquito repellent. There are commercially available mosquitos repellent in the market. The commonly used commercial mosquito repellent in the Philippines is quite unaffordable and uses chemicals that may cause irritation.
The researcher plans to use all natural ingredients in the cow dung mosquito repellent in this study. Since the ingredients or materials to be used are natural, the cow dung mosquito repellent is made to be affordable and easy to make and it is environment friendly.

CHAPTER II
A. REVIEW RELATED STUDY
The Organic Mosquito Rod is a mosquito repelling incense. It is usually shaped spiral but to make it easier we made it a rod. The rod is usually a held at the bottom tip of the rod, suspending it in the air. Burning usually begins at the tip of the rod and progresses slowly towards the bottom rod, producing a mosquito repellent smoke. Typical mosquito incense can measure 15 cm. in diameter and can last up to 2 hours or more depending on the wind present while the rod can be measured 10-12 cm. long and can last up to an hour and 20 minutes once burn at the tip of the rod.
Lemon grass (Cybopogon citrates) is a perennial herb widely used in Asian cuisine. It is commonly used for teas, soups and curries. In the Philippines lemon grass is called “tanglad” commonly used to savour Filipino delicacies.

In a study Evaluation of Herbal Essential oil against Mosquitoes by the Department of Plant Production Technology and Faculty of Agricultural Technology in Bangkok Thailand affirmed that lemon grass indeed contains organic repellents against mosquitoes.
In a laboratory experiment, volunteers were instructed to apply oil extracts from different target crops including lemon grass on one of their arms, while the other was untreated (control). Both hands were inserted in a cage containing 250 nulliparous female mosquitoes ageing 5-7 day old. Mosquitoes were observed in terms movements and behaviours.
Results showed that oil extracts from lemon grass, peppermint, eucalyptus, citronella, and cloves were effective to repel both dengue and malaria mosquitoes. However, the repellent effects of these oil extracts do not last longer compare to synthetic chemicals, thus, further study to improve its formulation and efficacy is needed.
Another study on “The Effectiveness of Lemon Grass as a Natural Mosquito Repellent” by the University of Southern California (USC), comparing the repellent efficacy of lemon grass extract to the DEET (N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide) based repellents or the leading commercial brands for insect repellents has found that lemon grass extract could be used as an alternative to chemical insect repellent.

Result and Discussion
Organic Rod
· When we burned the rod, just a few seconds the mosquitoes was no longer flying around the room
· Burned for 1 hr (45 inch in diameter)
· After an hour of continuous exposure to its smoke, neither dizziness nor coughing was experienced
Tiger Mosquito Coil
· When we burned the coil, just a few seconds the mosquitoes was no longer flying around the room
· Burned for 1 hr and 30 mins (45 inch in diameter)
· After an hour of continuous exposure to its smoke, dizziness and coughing was experienced

Conclusion “Prevention is better than cure” that statement leads us to propose this project. Cow’s Manure Mosquito Rod helps us to prevent from having a disease without harmful effect that usually we get from chemical insecticides. According to the research, cow manure is an effective insect repellant so we actually want to improve it. Through different experimentations, we have proven that cow manure is an effective organic insecticide. We improved it by adding dried lemon grass which makes the product more effective. Lemon grass adds fragrance which is not irritable to the nose. Cow’s manure mosquito rod with dried lemon grass shows effectiveness that it actually repel the mosquitos

Recommendation Using mosquito repellant is one way to prevent diseases caused by mosquitoes. But we cannot deny that there is a time that we are lack of money for our daily needs. So we recommend our investigatory product as a replacement. The good thing is, it is an organic mosquito repellant made from cow dung together with paper and lemon grass to add scent on it. We already tried it and we can say that it is an effective protection from mosquitoes. It is easy to do and it helps us to save money for important uses. We must ensure our safety especially nowadays that diseases continue to spread everywhere. Cow manure might look disgusting but we must give a try in using this organic mosquito repellant. So we recommend it to you then you give your final verdict after using it.

We selected this research project because we want to compare the effects of using papaya’s papain and the commercial meat tenderizers that can be bought in many supermarkets. Some people also tried this research project, like Gian Paul Giron, a student in a university in Manila. It spurred me to work on this problem because other researchers did not accomplish in making the papain meat tenderizer available in markets and can be bought in a lower price than the commercial ones. The results of this study can make a contribution to attain a better quality life, because if this will be successful, consumers can now buy a meat tenderizer that is chemical-free. It means that the papaya that we will be using will not use any commercial fertilizers.…

The study on the production of chalk out of sea shells was designed to produce quality dustless and long lasting chalk to compare with the standard existing commercialized chalks if there are any, which was sold in the market. The chalk out of sea shells is for local or non-local used for schools or any educational aspects or even at home which can be formed into different sizes and colors according to your will. We, the researchers, used the sea shells to recycle and transformed it into a useful product that will be used in our developing community. The production of this artifact that has been created by us strictly followed the procedures. First, collect sea shells from the sea shore. Then, boil it until it opens and being crushed into powder and becomes ready to be processed and made to different figures. Thus, the production of the product was accomplished and tested on its quality and strength. Data on the successful product were tested and was finished accurately. ABSTRACT The objective of the first part of the study was to find the best ratio of ink using carbon from used batteries and charcoal as pigments. The ink was evaluated on the basis of how much pigment is suspended in the mixture and their shelf life. The second part was aimed at the production of carbon paper. The best kinds of ink were tested on two mediums, coupon bond and onion skin. They were also tested for efficiency in terms of the number of coatings needed. The carbon paper was evaluated on the basis of clarity, neatness of the print and general acceptability. The final sample made use of two coatings of the ink mixture using carbon black, with coupon bond as the medium. The pigment (carbon black) to vehicle (glycerol) ratio of 1 g : 6 mL and 1 g : 7 mL was used using carbon black as pigment with glycerol as vehicle. Although the commercial bond paper has better quality, since it uses more technologically advanced methods, the use of the experimental carbon paper was acceptable. INTRODUCTION Carbon paper has many uses. It has a high demand in schools, offices and other institutions. The ink used in the production of commercial carbon paper is expensive due to its high production costs. Because of its high cost and increasing demand, there arises a need for a cheaper substitute. The study also aims to help reduce the problems in disposing used batteries by…

Worry is thoughts, images and emotions of a negative nature in which mental attempts are made[vague] to avoid anticipated potential threats.[1] As an emotion it is experienced as anxiety or concern about a real or imagined issue, usually personal issues such as health or finances or broader ones such as environmental pollution and social or technological change. Most people experience short-lived periods of worry in their lives without incident; indeed, a moderate amount of worrying may even have positive effects, if it prompts people to take precautions (e.g., fastening their seat belt or buying fire insurance) or avoid risky behaviours…
