Is Chicago A Safe Place
Chicago is not one of the best places to live because of the rising crime rate. Recent statistics have shown that more people are leaving the city to move to Indiana because of this. If the crime rate were lower probably people would still stay in Chicago. Al Capone once said “In this town murders a form of entertainment” which means that Chicago has had a long history of crime and the numbers of crime that have taking place in Chicago are still on the rise. Some people might say Chicago is one of the best places to live because it’s a beautiful place to live but Chicago has experienced some of the worst crimes in history. For instance the Jeffery Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy murders happened here. There are good neighborhoods in Chicago and I live on the Northside and crime doesn’t discriminate against anyone. I did have a crime against me was committed and my viewpoint has change on Chicago being a safe place to live. …show more content…
For example a 1 bedroom here cost 1,000 a month while a 1 bedroom while in Indiana a 1 bedroom is at least 740 per/month and people are paying less taxes there. The economy also goes hand in hand into why Chicago is starting not to become an affordable place to live here because of taxes and job security. If it were to change probably more people would stay in Chicago but that hasn’t happened
