* This week I learned that in order to lessen stress you need to be organized and time conscious. Basically, this means that you have to create a schedule and follow it in order to accomplish all of the things that you need to get done. Many people with poor time management have heart attacks and other help problems due to stress.…
Time Management Expert, Laura Vanderkam gave an inspirational speech on, “How to gain control of your free time.” During the opening of her speech, she tells a story about her own faults; being late for scheduled appointments, and how busy her own life is as a working mom. She emphasized on being able to put time in perspective, prioritizing what is important and how to accomplish your set goals. She references, “time is highly elastic, we can’t make time, but time will stretch to accommodate what we choose to put into it.” In fact, Ms. Vanderkam emphasized that time is a choice, and if we tell ourselves that we are busy, it really means that it’s not a priority. The speech was clear, energetic…

In A Wrinkle in Time, Meg’s level of self-control changes significantly. Before the change, Meg’s self-control was very low as she would punch people at the smallest taunt. For example, Meg attacked a boy at her school for insulting her brother. In fact, she would let all her common sense escape her mind, and she would just use her instincts. After the change, she would keep her anger to herself, though she would still feel it. For instance, when she felt anger towards her dad for not allowing her to save her brother, she did not act on her feelings. Instead, she gathered support from Aunt Beast, Mrs.Who, Mrs.Which, Mrs.Whatsit.…
That was another week went by at the Brookville General Hospital. As usual, I started my shift by listening to the morning report and then heading to my assign resident room. I started with a complete physical assessment of my assignment to my assigned patient. I was assigned to two patients, but, my other patient refused my care and other nurses as well. There was nothing I could have done for her other than monitoring her, especially since she was aggressive and hit whenever approached her. Despite this, I now have an experience of dealing with something like that. Moreover, I was helping another patient in the same room Since my assigned patient refused my care. I got the chance to check one of the patient’s blood sugar using Accuchek.I…

As a college student, I see myself facing this issue almost all the time. Time management. It is extremely difficult knowing how to productively pass the time and get things done. When all these distractions come in the way of study time or homework, it is that much harder for someone to put all of their focus on what it is they should be doing. Because of poor time management, college students often see themselves performing poorly in the classroom. Knowing how to manage time efficiently, means knowing how to prioritize and how to have self-control.…
How come you 've worked hard all day but haven 't started the one task that was most important to you? As a manager, how come your daily work schedule often falls in a heap by mid-morning?…
“Like and equal are not the same thing at all.” ― Madeleine L’Engle- A Wrinkle In Time. More specifically, A Wrinkle In Time is a book about a girl (Meg), and how her father vanished. In the book, the government told them he was on a top secret mission, while in the movie, he disappeared after Charles Wallace was born. Meg, Calvin, and Charles work through Camazotz and Uriel to find Meg’s father. This happens in both the story and the movie. Mrs Which, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Whatsit also helped them on their mission along the way. The story was more powerful than the movie because of its dialogue, setting, and plot.…
Time is a valuable resource that leads to chaos and disorder when mismanaged. Time management is the ability to do the right thing at the right time, in the right manner and at the right place. Success is a goal that has accomplished its intended purpose. Thus time management enables me to get my work together, prepare for the future and be organized in the best possible and most effective way in order to accomplish a set goal. There are therefore numerous ways in which my success in college would depend highly on how well I manage my time.…
This experience allowed me to realize exactly which skills I possess and which I am the best at expressing, teaching me a lot about myself but also about what I would like to improve on. This is where the “unwritten curriculum” of university becomes extremely important, as it has already allowed me to build on many skills which I had struggled with previously; skills such as time-management, focus, independence and abstract thinking. All qualities which seem relatively simple, yet without constant practice are not as easily remembered. Looking at time-management; “the total TMB [time management behaviour] was found to be significantly correlated with role ambiguity, somatic tension, job and life satisfaction, self-related performance and GPA.”1 This finding, although seems relatively straight forward allows for students such as myself to understand that the skill of time-management has many positive effects in ones life; academically and…
Recessions are generally believed to be caused by a widespread drop in spending. Beginning in the United States in December 2007 the industrialized world has been undergoing a recession, a pronounced deceleration of economic activity. The financial crisis has been linked to reckless and unsustainable lending practices resulting from the deregulation and securitization of real estate mortgages in the United States. Whatever the cause, there is one question that has been getting the least amount of attention; what effects does the economy have on our health as a society? The World Health Organization has defined health as being "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. So,…
A nursing student’s time is precious. The amount of time that it takes a student to secure a degree varies by college, yet the process still requires extreme dedication, diligence, mental stamina, and judicious time-management. Once a student has been accepted into a nursing program and begun their education, it soon becomes apparent the need to adapt and accustom a pattern of readjustment to the field of nursing. Overcoming what lies in the unknown, assessing one’s own stress, discovering ways to reduce stress, and creating ultimate compensation that is reflected by achieving good grades are some key qualities to procure. Nursing students, who apportion the majority of their time to academic tasks, not only overcome the stress of procrastination, but in return, achieve satisfaction. While the nursing students who allot only the bare minimum of their time, are overcome with stress to complete tasks and projects on time, and do not achieve that satisfaction; instead, these students may unknowingly put themselves behind others who managed their time wisely. This purpose of proper time management not only applies while attending nursing school, but likewise in the nursing field with patients. (Mirzaei, Oskouie, & Forough, 2012)…

This free time they can use it for studying and preparing for the exams. As an example, a student doesn’t understand too much a topic he or she can have the afternoon to practice or having an extra class so the student can understand the topic. One thing that it is true is that students get stress because of lots of homework, but having few ones they will no get stress. And when students are not stress, they are more eager to learn. For example, a student doesn’t have any homework; he or she can spend his afternoon in the computer investigation about topics that are interesting for him or her. Having few work at class, or few tests and homework has its disadvantages. The few work for a class can affect your grades and knowledge. Less work at class, the smaller is the opportunity to improve the grades. As an example could be that a student fail a test and that was the only one during the quarter and it worth like half of the grade. Probably he or she will fail the class because it was the only test and the students doesn’t have other opportunity to make up for the grade he or she needs to get. So it can be easy to fail the class if you fail one test and the students does not have lots of class work or…
