Torture is not only morally wrong but it is also against the law. In the 3rd and 4th Article of universal human rights at the Geneva conventions torture was outlawed. The reason torture is outlawed is simple, it hurts human beings leaving them hopeless for recovery.
As well as being illegal torture might not even work. According to a former CIA officer, constant stress could impair the functioning of the frontal and temporal lobes leaving memories hazed and truth merging with lies. Scans of the brain by professionals show that indeed activity is abnormal in those areas after torture. Where did the pros get the people to scan, from the Barbarian’s victims.
If these points haven’t convinced you maybe you are a Barbarian. If you look closely at what people use and have used torture you only see one thing, Bad names. Throughout history we see time and time again the lower people use torture. The Huns, Medieval Barons, and some Native Americans called savages. Even in literature torture is never used by the “Good Guy”. Even today only the nasty and vindictive people use it. Look at ISIS in Iraq, or Africans with Ebola out casting people who survive the affliction, clearly the people who use torture wouldn’t be your best friend.
So even though torture is pervasive in the world we should not advocate its use or use it because it is against the law, unproductive and only utilized by murderous
