Project Idea:
IslandGuitarWorks.com is an online store specializing in the sale of new, previously owned and vintage guitars (acoustic and electric), accessories, restoration works and interactive workshops.
Project title:
To develop an online music store specializing in the sale of new, previously owned and vintage guitars, accessories, restoration services and interactive workshops for its clientele.
Problem:
Island Guitar Works (IGW) is a traditional bricks and mortar retailer bringing a selection of the best in new, previously owned and vintage guitars and accessories. IGW provides restoration works and interactive workshops for their customers at their retail storefront.

It is important that the users do not get any errors when loading the site; as such investing in good hosting would be very important, as well as double checking to avoid broken or dead links to the site. By ensuring that the design is simple and focused on what is important, relevant, familiar and consistent to the users and by avoiding distractions like pop up etc. Credibility is also very important, to avoid any scepticism about the site, products, brand name/reputation or even the quality of the content, it is important for the user to know that the company is real. Many times customers can be persuaded to make a purchase, however for some reason, they do not go through with it, this often happens as a result of the checkout process; which can either be confusing or unclear to the …show more content…
The MySQL database would enable us to stores a collection of data e.g. usernames and passwords, products and orders by customers, and designed around 3 key concept stability, speed and ease of use, and is available under the open source licence.
The development environment is Eclipse and EasyPhp WAMP stack will be used for previewing and displaying sites. Eclipse will be used as it contains a base workspace and an extensible pug in system for customising the environment whilst Windows Apache MySQL PHP (WAMP) will be used as a local server because it is fairly easy to use, very fast when changing versions for testing and more flexible when it comes to development.
Finally, to bring all the information out of the database and into the web page, we will use PHP which is the primary area of web applications, because it is the easiest programming language and is known for its high speed in the implementation of programmes. It also comes with an interpreter loaded with many functions ready for use, combined with MySQL which will be used for running database related
