It Was A Beautiful Spring Day
It was a beautiful spring day. Sunshine pecked through the window and landed right on my face. The warmth of the sun felt wonderful on my face. A perfect day do relax and do nothing just lie on my bed with nothing else but my thoughts. A knock on the door startled me. It was my friend Ali behind him was Majid. We have been best friend since the fifth grade. Ali was a skinny boy with thin black hair and blue eyes. Majid was the complete opposite with a muscular body, thick brown hair and dark brown eyes.
“Get up lazy let’s go play football” said Majid. Reluctant at first, I agreed. We took a shortcut, through a construction site, to the football ground. Half way through the construction site we heard a voice,” ghost” I whispered in Ali’s ear, which gave him goose bumps. Majid being the inquisitive type wanted to investigate. We walked toward the noise as we got closer the voices got stranger we arrived at a sewer. The voices seemed to be coming from the sewer. Ali wanted to leave but Majid insisted to stay. The voices seemed unnatural and were really loud everyone was scared. Suddenly the voices stopped, there was pin drop silence. Everyone was staring at the sewer when suddenly a sound of bottles being shattered came from behind us. Ali screamed and ran followed by me and Majid. After a running for a while we realized it might have been just the wind. So we decided to go back. When we reached the sewer we say a cat playing with some bottles. We were relieved that it was just a cat and not a ghost. But the mystery of the sounds from the sewer still remained unsolved. We decided to remove the sewer cover and take a look inside. Everyone was sacred but we gathered up our courage and on the count of three flipped the cover. it was dark in the sewer, we stepped inside. The voices were coming from a corner in the sewer we moved toward it. Ali turned on the flashlight on his phone. Majid spotted a box in a corner it seemed to be the source of the scary noises.

I remember the first time I stayed awake throughout the night till a beaming light peaked through the window and hit my face like the touch of a baby's hand. Although the morning had risen, the moon had just come up. In the intensity of rushing to school, the need for pleasing others with looks has gone past me. The knots and tangles I feel in my stomach have also reached my hair as I pull parts of my day out of the strands.…

Then a tall homeless man with a dirty gray cap, big scary eyes, and dirty torn clothes, then stared at my cousins and I. He suddenly turned behind our backs and started to follow us without our knowledge for a moment until we couldn’t see anything but the sun and the sound of cars around us, it was like he was invisible, suddenly he jumped behind us and sprayed us with some type of mist that made us all fall to the ground. A few minutes later, when we opened our eyes, we found ourselves near a big garbage can with no one around us we were clueless. There we saw a small sticky note that was stuck to the side of the garbage…

Sometimes you would hear footsteps, on other occasions you could hear faint screaming at night, or even whispers. The parents just brushed it aside and claimed that the house was old and creaky and at night the wind creeps through the house causing the screaming and whispering noise. As for the footsteps, everybody just pretended not to hear those. One day though, Sarah followed the sound of the footsteps. It lead her to the basement. Sarah didn’t feel too well about that place. It was dim, and dark down there and it always felt damp. “Hello? Is anybody there?” Sarah asked nervously. Nobody answered. Then out of nowhere an ice cold breeze flew through the air and left the room in a few seconds. That was all Sarah needed to actually believe that her and her family were not alone in that house. She ran up the stairs and went to find her sister to tell her what had happened. When Sarah found Sally, she was reading a book on how to get rid of ghosts. “There is something in this house,” she said. Sarah then tells her about her experience and they both start…

As I was walking down the dark, concealed hallway I began to hear footsteps. As the footsteps grew closer, I began to grow worrisome. “Hello?” I softly spoke. “Hello,” I spoke again just a little louder. Nothing. I stood there for what felt like minutes pondering. Then suddenly, a soft snicker came from behind me. “Fortunato!” I yelled as I looked at him standing there with a sly smirk on his dirty face. “Montresor,” he replied “I see you are looking for me?” he remarked. “Oh, yes, yes I am, you must have gotten lost, let us go get our wine and forget all this,” I said thinking of a way to explain,”it was only a harmless joke!” I said as I slightly laughed. “Ha! Ha,” he erupted in laughter, “I think not!” he said as he launched towards me. In that moment as I tried to fight back, I knew I had lost. As everything was about to go black, I heard a soft voice in the distance “tu as perdu.” Then it went…

Tired, with a headache, and not in capacity to maintain my eyes open, I remembered next day was Halloween, which was the last thing I remembered before falling sleep. I woke up and saw the watch, it was three o’clock a.m. I listened to a weird sound that came from my closet; it was soft, but I could hear it like a rat scratching the walls. Intrigued about what was happening, I woke up and walked towards the closet. The sound gave me the chills.…

I woke up in the middle of the night to a whistling sound. I sat up and looked around, it was 2:00 in the morning. Suddenly, a book fell off of a nearby shelf all by itself. I quickly got up and went to find Viviane. It appears she is having the same ghostly experiences that I had. We wanted to get out of this creepy house, so we ran to the verandah. When we got there we saw a strand of beads hanging on the railing. I snatched them up and they began to glow. All of the sudden, we were both picked up by two ghosts, that were both women. They hovered in the air for a minute then took off, carrying us through the skies. We came to what looked like another plantation, and they dropped us in a grass clearing, and disappeared. We were so tired; we lay down and fell asleep before we could explore our new…

It was an ordinary Friday afternoon, just like other ordinary afternoons. The sun was shining brightly, provoking a yearning within me to enjoy the outdoors. I positioned myself on one of the two wicker lounge chairs. They sat diagonally on the front porch, allowing the perfect angle for me to bask in the daylight. After fidgeting to get comfortable, I cradled my belly while tucking into myself and let the day seize me. Birds chirped high in the trees while a gentle wind rustled the leaves. The sun’s rays embraced me like a warm blanket, leading me into the solitude of my own daydreams.…

Its dark and so silent that I could hear a penny drop. However, there’s screeching every few minutes. I can feel a person staring at me but there isn’t anyone there. The lights flicker and I hear a woman scream down stairs. Echoing in the dead silent house in less than a minute. I feel this warmness rush through me and my heart rate has accelerated. My breathing is heavy and I am trying to quietly move down stairs. I feel my hand become saturated with something goopy. My eyes widen as there is a man with dark clothing and something covering his face. He has a knife with bright red fresh blood at the end of the stairs. “You are next,” his deep crisp voice states as he walks out the door. I am unable to move. I am shaking and my chest has this overwhelming pressure. I fall and go blank.…

It was a dark spooky Halloween night, I had just finished watching Spookley, the Square Pumpkin. After a long night of handing out non-poisoned candy to weird staggering tots at my doorstep, I felt it was time to turn off the light. Walking to my room, I tripped on something slimy, being dismissive, I labeled it as my long lost sweater and threw it in the hamper. The corridor to my room seemed longer than usual this night, my steps seemed louder, offbeat almost. I quickly looked behind me, no one was there. Picking up my pace, the steps sounded closer, faster. Detecting my room door, I flew in and shut the door. with my back turned towards it. I’m panting, out of breath. Turning away the cover to my bed, I saw it. It was…
