At a very young age, I developed a passion for drawing. My sister used to challenge me to draw some of our favorite cartoon characters. From these humble beginnings I started to develop into a skilled painter. When my father recognized my talent, he bought me several drawing books. Although I have always enjoyed creating different types of art, portraits (drawing a person’s facial features), captured my interest the most. Portraits require …show more content…
Faiza AlOtaibi, a Jacksonville University Orthodontics alumna. Dr. Faiza talked to me about how great the environment was in the department in many different aspects. In addition to being academically strong, Dr. Faiza told me how supportive and collegial they were to each other. Thus, I am looking forward to becoming a part of this devoted clinician. In addition, as I am approaching to earn my Master’s degree in clinical research, my next step is to concentrate on the clinical part of the specialty that I chose. Joining a program that concentrates on the clinical aspect through the extensive seminars and exposing the resident to the various procedures will serve to accomplish my goal.
My ultimate goal after I pursue orthodontics, is to unite my passion in orthodontic and clinical research. My goal is to not limit the benefit to the individual patients when treating them, but to expand it to the whole field through conducting research to help provide best evidence based

There have been some challenges with drawing. For one, I got what seems to be a pretty late start, only starting to really draw my freshman year of high school, and while that may seem young to some, it seems like usually, people start to draw or to make comics when they are still in middle school. After I had finished drawing something, I was always so proud of it… up until I visited the internet and saw all of the drawings that were so much better.…
