Jacob Portman Analysis
When Jacob Portman, also known as Jake is still young , he wants to be like his Grandpa Abe, because he was raised in an orphanage, fought in wars and even performed in the circus. Every night, grandpa Abe always tells Jacob fantastic stories and show him some photos of the characters who are present in his story. This includes the invisible boys, strong girls, and people with mouths in the back of their heads and a lot more. He believes all the tales his grandpa told him, he even shared it to his classmates but his classmates never believed what he was saying. But stopped after a while because he’s already old enough to believe what he want. His grandfather kept ranting about monsters and one day he’s looking for his gun and asking Jake that how will he fight monsters if he doesn’t have his gun. …show more content…

But then he saw some clues and followed it, he saw his grandpa lying already dead without his eyes. But his grandfather woke up and ask him something telling him to go somewhere and to promise him. No one believes that a monster killed Grandpa, and telling that the official cause of death is rabid dogs. After that Jacob starts having nightmares and slips into a deep depression. He and his parents came to his psychiatrist, Dr. Golan, and he suggested for Jake to go to the island where Grandpa was raised, because they might find the explanation behind his mysterious dying words. Jake and his dad sailed to Cairnholm island, in wales. They checked in in a hotel in the island, and met new teens. His father paid them to hang out with Jake. They helped Jake to find the orphanage but he found burnt orphanage. While looking inside the orphanage he saw unordinary kid all over, that’s why he ran and bumped into the rocks then blackout. He woke up while a kid carries him, and dropped him. He became friends with the kids, he discovered many things involving
