James Howe's 'Everything Will Be Honesty'
In the story, “Everything will be okay,” by James Howe, The main character (Doesn’t say the name) is a nice one to know as a nice person. He is honest, Caring, and Scared about the cat.

The main reason why is that he is caring and loves the cat. Throughout the story, you can see he really cares for the cat even if it is really sick. He pets the cat instead of hurting it, he doesn’t want the cat to die even though it has to.

The second reason is that he is honest. He is honest because he doesn’t want to be a man. He was also honest about finding the cat and that he wants to keep it.

The third reason is that he is scared. He is very scared about losing the cat, He sits on the porch and talks to the cat in a very low voice. Last but not least

The author of,”Silence Is Goldfish”, Annabel Pitcher, has experienced many things. Some time back, Pitcher went to Oxford University, earning a degree in English literature, and began to work for television before she realized what she truly wanted to do (Page 1, Pitcher, Annabel). On the other hand, currently, Pitcher is a mother, and still writes when she can (Page 1, “ANNABEL PITCHER AUTHOR”). She got her inspirations from many things along the way. Some from television, and another from her own experiences as a teenager. With this book, however, “Silence Is Goldfish”, was inspired by the things we all do, but no one questions, such as the white lies we all tell. Some other books written by Pitcher include,”My Sister Lives…

Much like the present, there is a sort of intangible space between the older and younger generations. In All Quiet on the Western Front, youths like Paul Baümer must deal with the disillusion they feel towards what they were taught to believe in by those of the older generation. Once Paul and his fellow classmates are shipped off to war, he and the others learn that some of the things they were taught could not be farther from the truth.…

Is it always a “good” thing to tell the truth? If a friend were to ask “does this shirt look good on me?” would someone lie and say yes just to spare the friend’s feelings? Or if someone wanted to go to the movies with a friend and the friend did not want to go, would he or she straight up say “no I don't want to go”? Or would they claim to be busy with something else just so there's no hard feelings?…

In the article “Where Have the Good Men Gone?,” Kay Hymowitz has very good points. I agree with most of the things she has to say. Our generation is very different from every other generation. I feel like not only men but women are lazy too. We were all raised different and raised with very different morals. As stated in the article men used to have their things together by the age of 20. Already married with children and in college on their way to getting a good job, now they want to sit around with their friends drink some beer and play video games. The article says “I had to stop several times while reading and think: Wait, did I date this same guy?” (Hymowitz 491). Not only do I have experiences with this quote, I have many friends that feel the same way.…

In today's Society conversations between males and females has become difficult. There are a lot of miscommunications between males and females. In Deborah Tannen’s article “ Sex, Lies and Conversations” Tannen talks about how men and women talk differently to each other as well as the misunderstandings between each. She believed that no one person was at fault, whereas the differences caused by sexual standards. I feel that communication changes between males and females when in a different age group. The grandmother does not wish to leave the cat. “She didn’t intend for the cat to be left alone in the house for three days because he would miss her.” (O’Connor). The irony here is that cats are not the type of animals who miss people or even care about their owners. During the whole ordeal of the family the cat is not seen; however, at the closing of the story, the cat is seen cuddling up nest to The Misfit. In fact, the cat actually shows affection to The Misfit as if the cat is grateful that the grandmother has been shot. This is ironic because the grandmother took the cat because she did not want it to be lonely, however; the cat is never portrayed as lonely. He is portrayed as a normal cat loving the new owner.…

The essays are both talking about communication. One is focus primarily on the way different genders communicate whereas the other focuses on the ways different cultures communicate. The essays we are going to examine are “Indecent Exposure” by Carla Power and “Sex, Lies and Conversation” by Deborah Tannen. These essays use research to back up their claims. My personal favorite of the two essays is Tannen’s. I found it to be more humorous and I seen these differences firsthand. Whereas Power’s although informative and important had a more melancholy tone. Both essays have their merit but I choose to support Tannen’s more. We’ll examine further on their similarities by showing their way they present their argument, the way it sounds…

"For this he performs in ten degrees." While this poem has an underlying correlation to God, as we have our Ten Commandments, a cat has his own ten rules that can't be broken. "First he looks upon his fore-paws to see if they are clean", the first act that all cats do is to make sure their paws are clean before moving on to other parts of themselves. "For secondly he kicks up behind to clear away there", this is simply the act of him cleaning his backside. "For thirdly he works it upon stretch with the fore-paws extended", this is the act of him stretching his muscles. "For fourthly he sharpens his paws by wood", cats like to keep their claws sharpened. "For fifthly he washes himself," he continues his bath with the rest of his body. "For sixthly he rolls upon wash," when he finishes his bath he basks in his cleanliness by rolling around. "For seventhly he fleas himself, that he may not be interrupted upon the beat," he briskly…
