Janet Stone Case Summary

Janet Stone is a 21-year-old female that has a six-month history of heart palpitations, heat intolerance, and increasing nervousness. Although she has a good appetite, the patient has lost twenty pounds within the six months. A year ago, Stone was jogging ten miles per week, but has not done any jogging in the past eight months because she “doesn’t feel up to it.” She also seems to have weakness in her legs. No previous medical problems have been reported (Rashi 2010). The first hypothesis was that Stone has type 2 diabetes.
