The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer Pg. 2 As his chosen victim became unconscious, the gruesome thoughts came flooding in.
As he is dragging his victim to the bedroom a few feet away, he whispers to himself with a smile on his face, I have something special in store for you! Surrounded by his souvenirs of freshly cleaned skulls, decomposing body parts with family photos hanging on the wall. He places the body gently on the bed, turns the lamp on, removes the clothing and starts cutting off his head. The smell of blood arouses him, the sexual urge for this victim is over whelming but he’s not ready yet, he has to stay in control. The head rolls off onto the floor as he positions the body into a more comfortable position and disemboweled the victim. He smells the blood up close has he’s kissing the intestines, the urge is too strong so he licks the organs still maintaining control of his sexually desires. As he swallows the victims blood he say’s your apart of me now. Right at that moment he knew it was time. He rapes the corpse repeatedly undergoing intense sexual gratification each time until he is too tired to continue. He places the head on his dresser and says, don’t worry we’ll do it all again tomorrow …show more content…
night. In this paper, we are going to discuss:
Who is Jeffrey Dahmer
What type of necrophilia was Jeffrey Dahmer
The Psychiatric review of necrophilia
What Jeffrey Dahmer was trying to accomplish with his victims
Jeffrey Dahmer also known as the Milwaukee Monster was an infamous American serial killer that is most known for sadistic mutilation, molestation, necrophilia, and cannibalism of his victims. Dahmer was born and raised in Bath Township, Ohio, a middle-class suburb of Akron. As a child, Dahmer showed signs of an abnormal infatuation with animal by collecting the animal carcasses from the roadside and taking the animals back to his home to dismember the remains and store the parts in jars in the family 's wooden tool shed, explaining to his father that he was curious as to how each animal "fitted together." Over the course of 13 years, Dahmer committed 17 murders and was sentenced to 16 life sentences in prison and was beaten to death by fellow inmates in 1994.

During Dahmer’s personal activities with his victims, Stephen Hucker (2003), “Dahmers stimulation can be either in the form of fantasies or actual physical sexual contact with the corpse.” There is a broad spectrum of necrophilia behaviors, ranging from not acting upon one’s fantasies to murder for the sake of procuring a dead body.
Experts have subcategorized the paraphilia according to where it falls on the necrophilia spectrum. Necrophilia or Lust murders are homicides in which the offender stabs, cuts, pierces or mutilates the sexual regions or organs of the victim 's body. The sexual mutilation of the victim may include disembowelment, penetration of skin, displacement of the genitalia in both males and females. In Jeffrey Dahmer’s case, all of the psychodynamics of lust murder were acted out on his male victims, some of whom he cannibalized. This type of necrophilia also includes activities such as "posing" and "propping" of the body, the insertion of objects into the body cavities, anthropophagy (consumption of blood and/or flesh) and
necrophilia.
Lust murders are also classified as organized or disorganized depending on the psychopathology manifested in the crime scene and how the killings were conducted. During Dahmer crime scene investigation, he was a "disorganized" killer, but not the normal understanding of what we call disorganized. Dahmer followed orderly methods when he killed his victims meaning he stayed in control. However, the cutting, mutilation and overkill type of wounds in the victim will be directed towards the body parts that the offender finds sexually significant to him and serve as a sexual stimulus. In the psychiatric review of necrophilia, Sam Smith (1978), “This is consistent with sexual sadism, which many psychiatrics believes this type of sadism is a chronic and progressive disorder.” Sadism is a compelling element in some lust murders and acts has a arousal but is not derived from the infliction of pain and suffering of the victim but rather from the act of killing itself. Some psychiatrics believe an individual such as Jeffrey Dahmer should have been treated accordingly with treatment for necrophilia the same way that the state treats pedophilias with cognitive therapy, use of sex-drive reducing medications, assistance with improving social and sexual relations, etc.
So what was Jeffrey Dahmer trying to accomplish with his victims? Jeffrey Dahmer was dragging and killing the victims because this was the only ways he could think of keeping compliant victims with him by killing them. This was proving to be impractical because Dahmer grew extremely exhausted from the labor of disposing of the bodies to where he found himself stepping over bodies in his bath tub as he showered getting ready for work. According to Jeffrey Dahmer (1994) The killing was a means to an end. That was the least satisfactory part. I didn 't enjoy doing that. That 's why I tried to create living zombies with uric acid in the drill [to the head], but it never worked. No, the killing was not the objective. I just wanted to have the person under my complete control, not having to consider their wishes, being able to keep them there as long as I wanted.”
In conclusion, Jeffrey Dahmer was a lust murderer with extreme necrophilic fantasies and cannibalized his victims to serve as a sex stimulant. Dahmers modified zombie like creatures were put on display in his personal life in hopes they would stay. Over the years, we acknowledge and believe we have a sense of what serial killers such as Jeffery Dahmer look like, what they’re looking for and prepare to survive if we come across one because we also feel in order for us to survive we must construct them in our minds. We fear and despise them, but we also admire and long for them. Collect their survivors and wish to meet them. We are both thrilled and horrified by Jeffrey Dahmer and those like him. They portray our nightmares that we wish to fulfill but will not acknowledge. In the end, Jeffrey Dahmer was a serial killer who no one could control and may never understand.
