Fax: (555) 123-4576 michaelscustardemail.com
Our company is a growing frozen custard shop in the very hip downtown area of Jamesville. We started this company with 3 partners: Michael James, James Michaels, and Michelle Jones. Our dream for our company is to provide quality frozen custard at an affordable cost. We also want our shop to be a great place for young families and the College students to relax and socialize. This is why we have a Market structure because we build our promotions, prices, advertising, and even flavors of the day, based on the marketing groups we have chosen. The culture of this business is strongly focused on teamwork. We need each and every employee to work together to accomplish the company’s dream and to deliver a great treat for the customers! Strong customer service is a factor that will only help our company soar higher. We are very involved with the customer and their needs. If it was not for the customers, the shop would not exist! As an employee, we want strong teamwork skills, because working together gets the job done right. We want a strong customer pleasing ethic and a want to help push this company at it’s highest!
Business Model, Structure, and Culture The basis of this company is its product being superior and its customers enjoying every aspect of the business. Built from the ground up, this company takes pride in its superior custard that is the real deal compared to generic shops around town. The recipe alone will bring the customers in. One try and the customer will be ready to come back! This “real deal recipe” combines the best resources to work with. Putting it altogether and making it what it is, the customer will love the many flavors we offer.
The company started with a great idea. One man tried “authentic custard”, and thought “This should be in our home town”.

1.0 Introduction In 1934, Tom Carvel founded Carvel Corporation. It had one of the oldest and most endearing histories of all the ice cream companies in the U.S. Mr. Carvel used a combination of fresh ice cream and innovative products and manufacturing techniques to establish himself as the local, family-orientated ice cream parlor in the New York City area. In 1947, Mr. Carvel franchised his first store and proceeded to become one of the pioneers in fast food franchising. Throughout the 1960s and 70s, the gravely-voiced Mr. Carvel used his folksy and savvy style to dominate the greater New York area. By standardizing procedures and providing franchisees with exclusive product designs and marketing material, Mr. Carvel expanded all along the East Coast. By the early 1980s, there were over 800 Carvel stores in operation along the East Coast and in some Midwestern states. However, by the mid 1980s, the recession and the strain on Tom Carvel to manage his business began to take its effect on the franchise. Sales and quality control began to decline, and events forced Mr. Carvel to consider changes. In 1989, faced with diminishing sales and increasing store closures, Tom Carvel reluctantly sold his company to Investcorp, a Bahrainianbased investment-banking group. The Investcorp strategy centered on acquiring previously gainful companies whose profitability had diminished in recent years due to recession. By infusing new capital and bringing in a new management team headed by CEO Steve Fellingham, the former president of Kentucky Fried Chicken, Investcorp focused on growth and revamping Carvel’s listless image. Management was forced to walk a fine line between creating a new, vibrant image for Carvel and alienating longtime, loyal customers. Currently, Carvel Corporation’s mission statement is ‘Working together, we will make Carvel the leading choice for unique, quality frozen desserts by consistently exceeding customer expectations’. In 1994, Steve Fellingham…

From his failures, he had learned one other thing other than a great recipe for caramel. He had also learned that selling caramels in big batches to restaurants and hotels could make twice the money in half the time. So, after borrowing money from a nearby bank, Milton started a caramel factory in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, calling his creations “Hershey’s Crystal A Cream Caramels”. Milton’s new company was what he had been waiting for: success! He sold in big batches to several companies and after one large sale, being sent all the way to Europe, Milton payed off his loan at the bank. But an interesting thing about Hershey was that he wasn’t just the boss, he worked with his employers making caramel. He wanted his caramel to be the highest quality they could make it. Business was booming and the only direction Hershey was going from here was up.…
